How to know if a year is a leap year?

A Leap Year versus A Normal Year

The length of a full year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 45 seconds. Since it is difficult to keep track of a year in this way, we consider a year as 365 days. However, a leap year has 366 days. In leap years, there is a leap day and it is February 29. A leap year comes every 4 years, but not every 100 years, then again every 400 years.

How to know if a year is a leap year? 

 A rule of thumb: if the last two digits of a year that can be evenly divided by 4 Example: 2012, 2016, 2024

The only exception to the rule: if a year ends with two zeros like 2000, 1900, 1800 drop the last two zeros and try dividing the leftover by 4. If the new number is divisible by 4, it is a leap year. Otherwise it is a normal year.
